After an outstanding four-year career at Kentucky, Rhyne Howard has continued her success up in the WNBA. In her third season in the league, Howard has proved to be one of the best young stars in the world.

Her team, the Atlanta Dream, have struggled to find their footing this season, currently sitting at 10-20 and fifth (out of six teams) in the Eastern Conference. However, as for Howard herself, she’s been consistent when it comes to putting the ball in the hoop this season.

She started off the year by scoring 20+ points in three of her first four games, and since then, she has tallied double-digit points in every game but two. In the first game back from the Olympics, Howard dropped a season-high 30 points on 10-16 (5-9 3PT) shooting against the Seattle Storm.

In the five games following, Howard has scored 13 points, 19 points, 16 points in back-to-back games and then 12 points against the Storm on Wednesday. The Dream take on the Las Vegas Aces tonight at 10 p.m. EST, and that should serve as a good chance for Howard to shine as she plays against A’ja Wilson and Kelsey Plum, two of the best players the WNBA has to offer.

As of Friday morning, Howard’s 16.1 points per game rank first for the Dream. Howard has been the team’s top scorer each year since arriving in Atlanta in 2022.

With 10 games remaining on Atlanta’s schedule, it should be interesting to see if she can remain as the Dream’s leading scorer with guard Allisha Gray just behind her at 16.0 points per contest.
