Rhyne Howard partners with auto insurance company
It’s happening a bit slower than some anticipated, but student-athletes are beginning to take advantage of the new name, image, and likeness rules that were set in place on July 1.
Rhyne Howard is the latest to partner with a brand.
The Kentucky Women’s Basketball star player announced through her Instagram on Thursday night that she has entered into a paid partnership with Direct Auto Insurance, which is based in Howard’s home state of Tennessee. She even wrote a blog post about her most embarrassing driving test story.
“Listen, Teddy & I are busy. I depend on my car daily to get to class, practice, back home, games, and everything in-between. Without my car, I don’t know how I’d keep up with my schedule – which was a huge realization for me when thinking about auto insurance.
Luckily, I found out about @directautoins. With super affordable rates and accessibility of agents wherever you are, they make auto insurance one less thing for students and those with a busy schedule (who are over 18 years old) to have to worry about.
See what you can save and while you’re at it, head over to my story to read about my most embarrassing driving story 😂 #keepdriving #directautoins #ad”

Rhyne Howard has already joined Cameo where you can request a video call from her for $60. The senior guard is also an ambassador for Rise Up Sports Media, a new company designed to shine more spotlight on female athletes.
“It’s a great opportunity, especially because a lot of people use our faces and stuff to promote things and we don’t get anything from it,” Howard told KSR in July about being able to sign NIL deals. “So, now they can still promote us and it’ll be great. It’s great publicity-wise because we’re still getting out there and people are going to have no choice but to check in to women’s college basketball.”
Howard isn’t the only player on her team making moves, either. Senior guard and Kentucky native Blair Green recently announced that she has partnered with HydroJug.
