Rhyne Howard puts up 15 points, 9 rebounds in first game back from injury
It was just under a month ago on June 19th that former ‘Cat and current Atlanta Dream star Rhyne Howard went down with what they team called a “lower leg injury”. Immediately, it seemed like she had done something to her ankle. Rolled, twisted, sprained, you name it.
Something was up.
However, it seems that the injury wasn’t too bad as Howard made her on-court return on Wednesday against the Minnesota Lynx — the same team she got injured against.
While her shot wasn’t falling at the most efficient rate, Howard did manage to put up 15 points, nine rebounds and three assists in her first game back from her injury. She also won Player of the Game, for whatever that’s worth.
Clearly, the Dream are trying to slowly work her back in as she only played 23 minutes against the Lynx. On average, Howard has played 32 minutes per game this season. It’ll probably be a little bit before she gets back to that level.

Still, it’s good to see her back on the hardwood so soon after what looked like a brutal injury. Atlanta is only 7-17 on the season, going 1-9 without Howard in the lineup.
