Rhyne Howard ranks 11th in first batch of WNBA All-Star fan votes
Rhyne Howard continues to prove exactly why she was worthy of being the No. 1 pick by the Atlanta Dream just a few months ago.
On Friday afternoon, the WNBA unveiled the first batch of fan voting for the upcoming 2022 All-Star Game in Chicago, which is scheduled for Sunday, July 10. Among the top vote-getters was the former Kentucky Wildcat, who hauled in 8,516 total fan votes, which ranks 11th among the entire league. A total of 22 players will make the All-Star rosters (10 starters and 12 reserves), meaning Howard is well on pace to make the cut as a rookie.
Much like the NBA does with its All-Star Game, fan voting will account for 50 percent of the overall ballot, with players and members of the media accounting for 25 percent each. You can click the link here to vote for Howard every 24 hours. Voting ends on Monday, June 20 at 11:59 p.m. EST.
There will be two “2-for-1” voting days on June 14 and 18, where votes will count as double. You can vote for you up to 10 players (six from the backcourt, four from the frontcourt) per day, but we don’t care who you pick as long as Howard is one of them.

Through 12 games for the Dream (7-5), Howard has established herself as the clear-cut future of the franchise. The 6-foot-2 guard leads the team in scoring (15.8 points per game) and minutes per game (31.0). Howard also averages 4.1 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.7 steals per outing while shooting 38.2 percent from distance on 7.4 attempts per contest. She’s already won Eastern Conference Player of the Week and Rookie of the Month, etching her name in the history books along the way with impressive scoring outbursts.
Just looking at the names Howard shares company with is incredible. She’s being mentioned in the same breath as multi-time All-Stars and several future Hall-of-Famers. Howard has more fan votes than the likes of Diana Taurasi, Liz Cambage, Jonquel Jones (2021 MVP), Tina Charles, and Sabrina Ionescu. That’s damn impressive for a first-year pro in Howard.
