Rhyne Howard is the new player on the block, but she looked anything but out of place in her first All-Star Game.

During Sunday afternoon’s 2022 WNBA All-Star Game, the Atlanta Dream rookie shared the floor with the rest of the league’s top talents where she finished with 13 points on 5-9 shooting in a little over 15 minutes of action. Howard, who suited up for Team Wilson, played the second-fewest amount of minutes among her teammates, but still managed to stuff the stat sheet. The former Kentucky Wildcat added five rebounds, four assists, and one steal to her line while shooting 3-7 from beyond the arc.

Howard and Team Wilson beat Team Stewart by a final score of 134-112. It was the final All-Star Game for WNBA legends Sue Bird and Sylvia Fowles, who plan to retire at the season’s end.

Check out some of Howard’s tough buckets from the first of what will hopefully be many more All-Star Games for the 22-year-old.

It was a busy weekend in Chicago for the young superstar. Howard participated in both the Skills Challenge and 3-Point Contest on Saturday. She was one of just two WNBA players to play in all three main events (including the All-Star Game), along with Las Vegas Aces guard Kelsey Plum.

Howard was knocked out in the first round of the Skills Challenge before making it to the final round of the 3-Point Contest. The former Kentucky Wildcat was on fire in her opening round of the 3-Point Contest, hitting her first seven shots before finishing with a score of 24. Unfortunately, her next round wasn’t nearly as efficient, as she wound up losing to the now-four-time champion Allie Quigley, who lit up the nets for a score of 30 to win the event.

Prior to partaking in the basketball fun on Saturday, Howard made sure to honor one of her closest friends on the red carpet. She arrived sporting a Kentucky blue letterman jacket celebrating the life of the late Terrence Clarke. The jacket featured Clarke’s signature logo, a blue heart with a basketball and ‘TC5’ on her chest. She also wore a dog tag with a photo of Clarke around her neck.

A hell of a weekend for Rhyne Howard.
