brooks Rich Brooks was on the Joe B and Denny show this morning and Kentucky's former football coach seems very upset with the administration. Brooks wants to see more money poured into the football program - something that was promised to him when he was still at Kentucky - and it's not getting done. And instead of keeping his frustration in house, he took it to the air waves for all to hear. “I was there and I was told that we were going to renovate our stadium, have a recruiting room, have club seating and do all the things that all the other schools in the SEC have,” he said. “That didn’t come. It got mired up because a new basketball arena and new baseball stadium were thrown into it and it was just too big of a number." A lot of the money that is being put into the university's other athletic programs comes from football and Rich believes more of it should be spent on football. "We’ve been known as a basketball school and basketball needs to get what they get and keep getting it, but there is enough money that football brings in that needs to be invested back into the program.” He believes that investment will pay off like it did at schools like Oregon and Louisville during the Petrino era. Recruits want to see the best of the best and Kentucky isn't anywhere close right now. Plus, fans would be more likely to come early and stay late if Commonwealth offered club seating. "You put suites between the goal lines and raise the press box on top of the stadium because that is so antiquated and so old," he said. "Get club seating in there with an area behind the concourse so they can go inside and get food and drinks. Then maybe you get more people tailgating inside and get more people in the stadium earlier as well." Coach Brooks is impressed with the new video boards but he wants to see a renovation to at least one side of Commonwealth. While I completely agree with Papaw, he better not be holding his breath on this one. Rupp Arena is priority number one, two, three, and four. Commonwealth Stadium is what it is.
