Kentucky included in top 10 for cornerback RJ Johnson
Recruiting is being done constantly in college football, and preliminary decisions are now being made in the class of 2023. Many prospects are narrowing their focus on schools to focus on as we get into the summer months. Three-star prospect RJ Johnson is one of those recruits.
The 6-foot-2 cornerback out of Atlanta Eagles Landing Christian Academy has trimmed his list down to 10 schools: Arkansas, Boston College, Florida, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Louisville, LSU, Rutgers, South Carolina and Wake Forest.
The cornerback spoke with On3’s Jeremy Johnson and confirmed that relationships will be a huge part of his decision process.
“I’m looking to continue to build great relationships with all these universities,” Johnson told On3. “I want to be able to tour more. It will allow me to get more in-depth with all my visits and build on the relationships that we already have. I’ll also get a chance to see how they will use me in their system.”
RJ Johnson is the No. 795 prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. The cornerback is the No. 82 ranked prospect in Georgia.

Rutgers has a ton of momentum in this recruitment having hosted Johnson on a spring unofficial visit with an official visit scheduled for June 21. Kentucky hosted Johnson for a visit in January after issuing a scholarship offer in December. Secondary coach Chris Collins is running point for the coaching staff in the recruitment.
Cornerback remains a position of need in the class of 2023 and the Wildcats are emerging as a contender in multiple recruitments. Add RJ Johnson to the list.
