Rondo Doing Work in Playoffs

by:Tara Bilby05/13/12
Rajon Rondo recorded his 8th playoff triple-double last night against the 76ers, putting him in fifth place on the overall list of players with triple doubles in the playoffs. The only players in front of Rondo are Magic Johnson, who is leading the pack with 30, Jason Kidd and Larry Bird with 11, and then Wilt Chamberlain with 9.   Rondo got off to a slow start last night, but picked it up in the third quarter, ending the game with 17 assists, 13 points and 12 rebounds. He made key baskets in the fourth quarter that pulled the Celtics within one and then a basket that put the Celtics ahead. According to Elias from Elias Says on ESPN.com, Rondo now has recorded more triple-doubles (7), over the past 4 post seasons than all other NBA players combined.   If Rondo continues to play like this he may be able to tie Wilt on the list as the Celtics continue their playoff run against the 76ers. Rondo's just another player making Kentucky proud.
