Roster Tracker: So... What now?
Well, this is weird. How are you supposed to track a roster when you don’t have a head coach or know where that coach is coming from and the players they could potentially bring with them? And who they’d want to keep from this current roster — or who would want to stay with the new coach? Or follow John Calipari to Arkansas?
All eyes are on the coaching search, first and foremost. Scott Drew, Dan Hurley and Billy Donovan are the names of interest for Kentucky, Mitch Barnhart knee-deep in the process looking for the next face of the Wildcats. Depending on your priorities, you can convince yourself that all three are home runs in their own ways — past, recent and current success overlapping with five total college national champions between the three.
While Barnhart locks in on one of those three, as anticipated, some type of clarity is forming on who won’t be playing for the next head coach in Lexington. Immediately following Calipari’s reported departure, Aaron Bradshaw hit the transfer portal, followed by Joey Hart — back-to-back on April 8. The former decided to test the draft waters, as well, while the latter will be searching for his next college home.
From there, Rob Dillingham followed up with the obvious announcement on April 9 that he would be entering the NBA Draft and signing with Klutch Sports for his representation in the league.

Maybe the bigger surprise is the lack of updates on the rest of the bunch, all eyes on Reed Sheppard and his future in Lexington. Does he look to bring the Wildcats back to glory with a return to Kentucky under, say, Scott Drew? I’m sure that’s the first phone call if and when that time comes.
Until then, let’s update the roster tracker.
