Cassidy Rowe chose to stay home in part to learn from Georgia Amoore
Obviously, the main reason as to why Cassidy Rowe decided to stay at Kentucky was because it’s her dream school — the only place where she could see herself playing. However, another factor that aided her decision is that she gets to learn from Georgia Amoore, who was an All-American point guard a year ago.
“It means everything that I’m still at Kentucky,” Rowe said following the 79-67 win over Purdue Fort Wayne. “It’s always been a dream to play here, and even when I heard that Georgia was coming in, the thought [of transferring] never crossed my mind because Georgia is one of the best point guards in the country, and the fact that I get to learn from her and just pick her brain, it’s truly been a blessing for me, even building my own game.”
She added, “I feel like I’ve grown a lot, even just the confidence side of things. Last year was really the first time I was getting playing time, and I felt like I was still timid. Just felt like I was playing not to make a mistake, rather than playing to help my team win. This year, the coaching staff has helped me build that confidence — play more physical. I feel like my teammates have helped a lot in that too. Just my teammates having trust in me, and I have trust in them. I feel like it’s built my confidence a lot.”

Coming into the season, Rowe was expected to take a back seat to Amoore. Instead, she’s become a very valuable contributor alongside her.
