Kentucky got on the board back over the summer in the 2025 recruiting cycle when Harrisburg (Pa.) Bishop McDevitt quarterback Stone Saunders committed to Kentucky. That was a key addition for the Wildcats who just hosted the top-400 recruit for an unofficial visit over the weekend.

Yet, the work at quarterback might not be done in this class.

Findlay (Ohio) High rising junior Ryan Montgomery has long been a target of interest for Kentucky. The top-250 prospect just wrapped up another unofficial visit to South Carolina over the weekend. Florida is also firmly in the hunt. Kentucky is not tapping out of this race yet.

On3’s Chad Simmons has reported that offensive coordinator Liam Coen and Kentucky remain a potential option for Montgomery.

Billy Napier, Mario Cristobal and Shane Beamer have been at Findlay (Ohio) this week to visit Ryan Montgomery,” Simmons wrote on Wednesday. “He will visit South Carolina this weekend, Georgia next weekend and then Florida on Feb. 3. Alabama, Kentucky and Miami are some others still hanging around.”

A decision is expected to come in February. The Wildcats could be looking to make a late push for Montgomery. The quarterback was impressed with the Gamecocks in his most recent visit to Columbia, but this recruitment is not over yet. Montgomery is making a quick stop to see Georgia on Monday.

Will Kentucky be able to make a late push for the blue-chip quarterback? Stay tuned.
