One of the top quarterback prospects in the 2025 recruiting class appears to like what he’s seeing from the Kentucky Wildcats. Fresh off a trip to Lexington for Kentucky Junior Day, Ryan Montgomery has schedule a return trip to the Bluegrass this spring.

KSR has learned Montgomery will visit UK during the Wildcats’ spring practice on Thursday, March 30. The Findlay, Oh. prospect also plans on visiting Michigan this spring and has unofficial visit scheduled to Ohio State for the Buckeyes’ spring game in April. His older brother, Luke Montgomery, is an offensive tackle for Ohio State.

During his visit to Lexington a few weeks ago, he received a scholarship offer from Liam Coen. The first in-person meeting between the two, the Kentucky offensive coordinator is trying to reel in his first big fish at quarterback on the recruiting trail.

Montgomery is a 6-foot-3, 210-pound four-star prospect. He still has not completed his sophomore year of high school, but he’s already ranked as the No. 43 player in the 2025 recruiting class according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the third-ranked quarterback in the class the No. 1 player in Ohio.

As you can probably tell, Kentucky will have plenty of competition in the recruitment of Ryan Montgomery. In addition to nearby Ohio State and Michigan, he has reported offers from Penn State, Georgia, Notre Dame, Tennessee, Miami and Michigan, among others.

Kentucky is not completely all in on Montgomery in the 2025 recruiting class. Lexington Christian’s Cutter Boley and Pennsylvania native Stone Saunders are also top targets for Liam Coen. The Cats have a couple of talented options and they need to land one. Ryan Montgomery certainly has the skillset needed to succeed at the next level.
