Ryan Timmons grew up loving Florida football

When Ryan Timmons committed to Kentucky on the eve of Signing Day 2013, a University of Florida hat was one of the four hats he had on the table in front of him. He had just taken his official visit to Florida days before the announcement, and if not for a loaded class of receivers in Gainesville, maybe Timmons is wearing blue and orange today. He wasn't shy in hiding his love for Florida during his recruitment; he admitted to being a lifelong fan of Gators football, admiring Florida standouts like Percy Harvin and Jeff Demps. But all of that is an afterthought now that Timmons is two games into his sophomore season at Kentucky and leading the team in receptions and receiving yards. He is a go-to guy in Kentucky's offense and Florida head coach Will Muschamp, who wanted Timmons out of high school, will make sure his defense knows to keep an eye on No. 1 this Saturday. "Ryan Timmons is a young man that we offered here," Muschamp said today in his pre-Kentucky press conference.  "Thought he’s a heck of a football player. He does a really good job in space. They get him the ball in a bunch of situations in the passing game and the running game, very skilled guy." Timmons was the target of over one-third of Patrick Towles' passes against Ohio, and he'll be the focal point of the UK offense yet again, especially if fellow starter Javess Blue can't go. You have to believe he'll be hungry to find the end zone against the team he grew up watching, and in his first game as an opponent in The Swamp.
