Sacha Killeya-Jones agrees to Exhibit 10 contract with OKC Thunder

Earlier this month, Sacha Killeya-Jones was a steady force in NBA Summer League action for the Los Angeles Lakers. His solid production from that stretch has earned him a shot at playing in the pros.
According to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, Killeya-Jones has agreed to an Exhibit 10 contract with the Oklahoma City Thunder. This will be the former Kentucky Wildcats’ first NBA opportunity after bouncing around the world since going undrafted in 2019. Killeya-Jones, who turns 24 in August, averaged 6.8 points, 6.8 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 2.3 blocks for the Lakers during four Las Vegas Summer League games in July.
Killeya-Jones is one of three former ‘Cats to secure an Exhibit 10 contract this offseason. Both Davion Mintz (Washington Wizards) and Kellan Grady (Denver Nuggets) have signed Exhibit 10 deals after not getting picked in the 2022 NBA Draft.

An Exhibit 10 contract is a one-year, minimum salary NBA contract that provides flexibility for the team signing the player. Teams can convert a player’s one-year, minimum contract into a two-way contract before the start of the season. With an Exhibit 10 attachment, players can earn a bonus of up to $50,000 in the event they are waived by the team and sign with its G League affiliate for 60 days.
Killeya-Jones initially came to Lexington as a McDonald’s All-American prospect out of high school. He spent two seasons with the ‘Cats from 2016 through 2018 but was still a rotational piece by the end of his sophomore year. As a result, he transferred to NC State, although he never suited up for the Wolfpack before declaring for the draft. SKJ has made stops in Prague, Germany, Estonia, Poland, and Israel since leaving college.
