The list of Kentucky football transfer portal visitors is growing. The latest player to add to the guest list is Chris Murray.

ESPN’s Max Olson reports the Sam Houston State defensive lineman is visiting Mississippi State on Wednesday with Marshall linebacker Landyn Watson. Following the trip to Starkville, the two defensive players will make their way to Lexington. Watson previously told KSR+’s Jacob Polacheck that he will be in town for a visit on Thursday.

Why are these two traveling together? First and foremost, they’re repped by the same agent, Ian Johnson. That cuts his workload in half. More importantly, both of these players started their careers together at TCU. They each were recruited by Gary Patterson and played for the team that made it to the CFB Playoff National Championship.

A 6-foot-4, 255-pound defensive lineman, Murray was a Top-300, four-star prospect when the Texas native signed with TCU in the class of 2021. Last fall he had 34 tackles, 12 TFLs, 5.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles for the BearKats, who finished 9-3 in C-USA play. He has one year of eligibility remaining.

In addition to the two SEC programs, Arizona, North Texas, Temple, and Arizona have offered Murray.

Kentucky lost three EDGE players in the transfer and J.J. Weaver‘s eligibility expired. Brad White needs to rebuild his position room and Murray could give the defense a solid start.

KSR has confirmed three defensive visitors for this week, Murray, Watson, and USC DL Sam Greene. An offensive tackle, Western Carolina’s Derek Simmons, also has a visit on the docket for next week.
