Kentucky is finalist for top-500 WR Samari Reed with decision right around the corner
Kentucky landed a South Florida recruiting win on Thursday night when three-star tackle Bryan Auguste committed to the program. The Wildcats might not be done at Coconut Creek (Fla.) Monarch since Auguste’s teammate Samari Reed is also being pursued with a decision right around the corner.
On Instagram, Samari Reed released a top-five list with Clemson, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Penn State, and West Virginia making the cut. An announcement is scheduled to arrive in July.
The high three-star wideout joined Auguste in Lexington the weekend of June 14-16 for an official visit. Ole Miss (April 26-28), West Virginia (June 7-9), and Penn State (June 21-23) also hosted Samari Reed for an official visit. Clemson did not get Reed on campus in June but did issue an offer to the wide receiver prospect on March 29 just three weeks after an unofficial visit to see Dabo Swinney‘s program.
Samari Reed reeled in 56 receptions for 1,311 yards and 15 touchdowns as a junior. The South Florida recruit also plays basketball at Monarch. The recruitment appears to be wide open, but Penn State did get on campus in State College twice in the last four months with both an unofficial and official visit.
