Saturday Morning Links
Good morning Wildcat fans. Your #1 men’s basketball team gutted out a tough, “big-boy” game against the 6th ranked Texas Longhorns last night, and it feels good to be on top of the mountain. Not much rest for UK as the Eastern Kentucky Colonels come to Rupp tomorrow evening, but until then here are some links to start off your day…
-ESPN Blogger Eamonn Brennan wrote last night that for a nine minute stretch in the second half, Kentucky revealed their true strengths and challenges as a team. It’s title, or bust for the Cats.
-The 13th ranked UK Hoops team heads to the Derby City tomorrow afternoon for a hotly contest rivalry game against the 7th ranked Louisville Cardinals. Coach Mitchell and Co. have won the past three matchups with the Cards, but this looks to be the hardest test yet as UofL is 8-0 and coming off of a 34 point shellacking of 22nd ranked Iowa. Hayley and I leave for Louisville today, wish us luck.
-The Kentucky volleyball team began their hunt for a national championship last night in the first round of the NCAA Tournament against Oakland. The Cats gutted out a competitive 3-0 sweep against the Grizzlies and move on to face the Ohio State with a spot in the Sweet 16 on the line. They play tonight at 7 in Memorial Coliseum, help cheer them on.
