Score predictions for Week 11 of Kentucky high school football
The final week of the high school football regular season has arrived. Over the next few days, postseason matchups will slowly fill out as schools from all over the state look to make a run to Kroger Field this December. We’re in for an exciting week to close out the regular season, too.
We’ll start with the byes. The likes of No. 3 Trinity, No. 4 Cooper, No. 15 Highlands, No. 23 Beechwood, and No. 24 Johnson Central are all off, having wrapped up regular season play last week. Despite that, we still have three Top 25 matchups in store along with an exciting KSR Game of the Week showdown out west.
No. 1 Boyle County hosting No. 10 Frederick Douglass is this week’s headliner. The Rebels have won 31 straight games, the last loss coming to Douglass back in 2022. We’ll also be treated to a Top 10 matchup in Louisville between No. 5 Male and No. 8 DuPont Manual while No. 7 St. Xavier hosts No. 19 Bowling Green right down the road.
As for the KSR Game of the week, Piper McCoun will make her way out to Steele Stadium in western Kentucky as No. 9 Owensboro Catholic looks to finish the regular season undefeated. Standing in the Aces’ way will be a North Hardin team receiving votes in KSR’s latest rankings poll. A big win for the Trojans right ahead of the playoffs would do wonders for their momentum going into the postseason. For a full preview of that matchup, click here.

As we gear up for Week 11 action, we’re predicting the score for every major game on the docket for Friday. Using the Massey Ratings — a system created in 1999 by statistician Kenneth Massey that was used to help determine the Bowl Championship Series (BCS) until 2013 — we are able to plug every high school team across the state into a tool that will predict the final outcome of any given matchup.
As a quick explanation, the Massey Ratings are computer ratings based on historical trends and current-year stats. With that in mind, it will need a few weeks’ worth of games before the numbers begin to hit their stride. However, you won’t find a more reliable system to use in terms of predicting scores throughout the first couple of weeks of the regular season.

Below, we have included score predictions for all of KSR’s Top 25 teams, along with the additional teams receiving votes from our panel of voters.
