Scoreboard Rundown: DuPont Manual upsets St. Xavier in Top 20 matchup
There were only two Top 25 matchups on the Week 8 Kentucky high school football schedule, but both provided plenty of fireworks along the way.
Most notably, No. 17 DuPont Manual pulled off the huge upset of No. 5 St. Xavier, winning 29-22 in Louisville. The Crimsons have just one loss on the season, a surprising 35-10 defeat at the hands of Christian Academy-Louisville, but have now beaten Frederick Douglass, South Warren, and St. Xavier — all Top 25 ranked teams. Manual will be a threat to make a deep run in the Class 6A state tournament at this rate.

Elsewhere, No. 7 Frederick Douglass was able to fend off No. 19 Madison Central in Richmond by a final score of 21-14. Out in Georgetown, Scott County took down No. 20 South Oldham 28-7 in the KSR Game of the Week. The Cardinals were already receiving votes going into this week and might just sneak into the updated Top 25 on Monday. Nine of KSR’s Top 25 schools were on byes this week.
Below you can find all of the final scores from teams among KSR’s Top 25 rankings, along with the teams outside of the rankings that received votes from our panel of 10 voters. We have compared the final result to the pregame predictions from On3’s Massey Ratings, which once again did a great job of predicting the winner and getting close to the final score.
