Week 7 of the Kentucky high school football season went off without a hitch. After bad weather across the state caused schedule confusion from eastern to western Kentucky last week, it was a smooth operation this time around as games were split between Thursday and Friday night. You couldn’t have asked for better football weather in early October.

Outside of the KSR Game of the Week in Lexington, there wasn’t much in the world of upsets in Week 7. Although Male entered as the higher-ranked team than Frederick Douglass, it was the Broncos who were projected to win by the On3 Massey Ratings. But Male turned a seven-point underdog into a three-point winner as the Bulldogs downed Frederick Douglass 31-28 in a game that came down to an onside kick in the closing minute.

Elsewhere, No. 6 Trinity’s low-scoring 7-3 win over Ohio’s St. Xavier was one of two notable “upsets” this week. Unranked South Oldham also managed to hold off No. 17 Woodford County 32-27. No. 4 St. Xavier in Louisville was able to fend over No. 11 Ryle in a tight 31-24 win.

Below you can find all of the final scores from teams among KSR’s Top 25 rankings, along with the teams outside of the rankings that received votes from our panel of 10 voters. We have compared the final result to the pregame predictions from On3’s Massey Ratings, which once again did a great job of predicting the winner and getting close to the final score.
