SEC announces 2022-23 schedule for Kentucky WBB
The Kentucky women’s basketball schedule for the 2022-23 season is beginning to take shape.
On Wednesday, the Southeastern Conference announced the Wildcats’ intraconference schedule, which includes eight home games at Memorial Coliseum and eight road games. Kentucky’s toughest challenge will come in the form of a home-and-home against reigning national champion South Carolina, which is expected to begin the season ranked No. 1 in the country.
Tip times and TV designations have not yet been announced.
Kentucky will participate in a home-and-home against three programs: South Carolina (permanent opponent), Missouri, and Georgia. The remaining SEC foes will be single-game matchups, with half played at home and the other half on the road.
Eight of UK’s 16 SEC opponents made the NCAA Tournament a year ago. Spanning from Jan. 1 through Jan. 15, the ‘Cats will face five consecutive teams that made the postseason earlier this year. Coach Kyra Elzy and her squad will get a seven-day break after that.
