SEC is home to best offenses in college basketball

Kentucky improved to 13-3 on Saturday night in Starkville. The win included the latest shootout victory for the Wildcats when playing a ranked foe. One of Mark Pope‘s top goals when arriving in Lexington was to help modernize Kentucky’s approach. We’ve seen that play out on the floor this season.
The Wildcats have scored at least 85 points in 11 games this season and have reached triple digits five times including a thrilling home win against Florida. Kentucky has cemented its standing as one of the best offenses in college basketball. Pope’s team is shooting 36.7 percent from three, 57.4 percent from two, ranks No. 30 in adjusted tempo, and improved to No. 3 in adjusted offensive efficiency at KenPom after the latest win.
Kentucky isn’t the only SEC team sitting at the top of the sport when it comes to offense. The best scoring teams in the country all play in the sport’s top conference.
