SEC Media Days will move to Texas in 2024
SEC Media Days is the biggest event of talking season. In 2024, the event will move to a state where literally everything is bigger. KSR will be taking a road strip to the Lonestar State?
The Action Network’s Brett McMurphy is reporting that sources are telling him that the SEC will take its unofficial season kickoff event to Dallas next July.

From 1985-2017, the preseason event was held yearly in Birmingham where the league’s office is located. The Wynfrey Hotel was the most popular hosting site. However, the SEC experimenting with moving the event around a couple times over the last half decade. The College Football Hall of Fame has hosted the event twice (2018, 2022) in Atlanta and Nashville joined the party in 2023. In 2024, SEC Media Days will apparently be moved to a fourth city in four years after the Wynfrey Hotel hosted the event in 2021.
The move is largely due to the addition of two new brand names. Oklahoma and Texas will be joining the league in 2024 and divisions will be eliminated. Things will be much different moving forward. For Kentucky, that means a road trip to Austin to take on the Longhorns at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium. Dallas is no stranger to big events hosting Big 12 Media Days every year at AT&T Stadium. SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey confirmed that the preseason event will be held at the Downtown Omni in Dallas from July 15-18. Also during that week in Greater Dallas, the Texas Rangers will host the 2024 MLB All-Star Game at Globe Life Field in Arlington.
Texas talking season will certainly hit different.
