Kentucky women’s basketball’s 2024-25 Southeastern Conference opponents were announced on Tuesday — and there’s a bit of a shakeup compared to years past.

With the addition of Texas and Oklahoma to the SEC beginning this fall, the league is now up to 16 teams. For Kentucky’s schedule, that means taking on both the Longhorns and Sooners this coming season. On the flip side (and this could be considered good news), the Wildcats will only have to play defending champion South Carolina once.

Kentucky and South Carolina had played each other twice during the regular season for the last 30 seasons. As a result, UK’s lone home-and-away opponent for the 2024-25 season will be Georgia, meaning the ‘Cats will now have just one rotating opponent per season (down from three). Official dates and TV times will be announced at a later time.

The SEC was already considered a tough league and it’s only going to get better with Texas and Oklahoma now in the fold. Kentucky will host Texas (at the upgraded Memorial Coliseum) and hit the road to face Oklahoma. The Wildcats will also welcome projected Top 10 team LSU to Lexington. The matchup against South Carolina will be on the road.

Below is Kentucky’s full opponent list for the ’24-25 season, which includes eight games at home and eight on the road. New head coach Kenny Brooks is in for a tough road in year one.
