Secret Oath wins 2022 Kentucky Oaks race
For a record-tying fifth time, trainer D. Wayne Lukas has produced a winner at the Oaks.
In Friday’s 148th running of the Kentucky Oaks race at Churchill Downs, Secret Oath rallied late to cross the finish line first by two lengths, taking home the $1.25 million purse. The 3-year-old filly beat out the betting favorite, Nest, which came in second, followed by Desert Dawn in third. Secret Oath entered the race with the fourth-best odds.
Just over 100,000 people were in attendance for the 1 1/8 mile race in Louisville. Luis Saez was the jockey for the winning horse.
Below are betting payout details.
