SEMO DL Transfer Jaylon Stone Sets Kentucky Visit Date: 'I Feel Like It'll Be a Great Opportunity'

Southeast Missouri State defensive line transfer Jaylon Stone is getting ready to start visits. Kentucky will be getting one of the first visits.

The 6-foot-2, 288-pound defensive tackle told KSR+ that he will be visiting Kentucky from Friday, April 25, until Sunday, April 27.

“I like the way they’re pros,” Stone said. “They have a plan for me and a plan to develop me. They told me what they like about me and what they wanna change. I just feel like it’ll be a great opportunity.”

Stone has been in contact with Kentucky defensive line coach Anwar Stewart. He’s also hearing from defensive coordinator Brad White.

“I feel like I’d be a pretty good fit for their scheme,” Stone said. “I feel like I fit into the depth chart and could get some good time to play this year if I do choose to commit.”

Jaylon Stone is getting ready for a busy visit schedule. It all kicks off on Monday.

“It’s been crazy. It’s a lot to take in, getting these top programs to look at my film,” Stone said. “They’ve said they like my film. It’s been a great experience.”

Stone is set to visit Oklahoma on April 21 and then Illinois the following weekend. He’s also working to set visits to Washington State and Cincinnati.

A decision could come quickly for Stone. He’s starting to lay out a timeline for a decision.

“Really, [I want to commit] in these next couple of weeks,” he said. “I’ll try to fit all the schools I can in these next three weeks. Then, it’ll be decision time.”

Playing time will be a factor in his decision. He’s also looking for a strong bond with the coaching staff.

“I’m gonna go somewhere with great coaching that gives me a great opportunity to get on the field as quickly as possible,” Stone said. “I want to go somewhere to grow. Wherever I feel like that is, that’s where I’ll be picking.”

“The FCS transfer is an undersized defensive tackle who showed play strength, good leverage, and position versatility in his second year in college football,” Luckett wrote.

Stone considers his athletic ability and ability to move laterally as two of his greatest strengths. He’s looking to get better at using his hands.

“I also enjoy fishing. I don’t really have an interesting background, but I really do enjoy fishing, gaming, and stuff like that,” Stone said.
