Shaedon Sharpe cuts list to ten, includes Kentucky
Kentucky remains in the running for arguably the top scoring guard in all of high school basketball.
Shaedon Sharpe, a five-star shooting guard in the class of 2022, announced his top ten list Tuesday evening. The finalists? Kentucky, Oregon, Alabama, Kansas, Oklahoma, USC, Oklahoma State, Arizona, Texas and Arizona State.

Sharpe, a 6-foot-4, 180-pound guard out of London, Canada, averaged 22.6 points per game on 48% shooting overall and 36.4% from three in 12 games at Peach Jam. During that span, the five-star prospect scored 20 or more points eight times, 25 or more six times and 30 or more points twice.
Ranked No. 8 overall by 247Sports and ESPN, along with No. 11 overall by Rivals, there is growing buzz that Sharpe will not only make a jump into the top five, but may contend for the No. 1 overall spot when the rankings are updated in the coming weeks.
In fact, Jamie Shaw of Rivals.com said that Sharpe deserves to hold the No. 1 spot in the new rankings following his standout performance at Peach Jam.

“This is not really a question in my mind because of the smooth way he creates and makes shooting opportunities,” Shaw said. “Sharpe has a natural explosion with a handle that gets him to his spots, and the ability to pull up from 28-feet.
“During the first week of the Peach Jam, Sharpe averaged 21.6 points on 44.4-percent shooting from three. During his second week, Sharpe averaged 24 points, 6.6 rebounds, and three assists on 47.5-percent shooting from the field. It is easy to see his game translate from level to level, and it showed against the nation’s best.”
As for the likely landing spot, Kentucky is seen as the overwhelming favorite going into the home stretch of his recruitment, one that is expected to come to a close sooner rather than later. As discussed several times on the site over the course of the last two weeks, sources tell KSR that a mid-August announcement is expected for the five-star guard prospect.
