The name, image, likeness era in college athletics is off and running. In the Bluegrass State, both Kentucky football and basketball athletes have been featured in ads with a variety of businesses. Incoming wing Shaedon Sharpe may have just released the coolest ad yet.

On Tuesday evening, Sharpe released the latest ad on his Instagram page, and the early reviews are in — this newest Wildcat has some style.

Shaedon Sharpe will be in Lexington soon

The No. 1 overall recruit in the class of 2022 per the On3 Consensus is set to be heading to the University of Kentucky very soon.

Last week, Kentucky head coach John Calipari confirmed that Sharpe will be with the team on campus very soon, but right now is a time about tempering expectations.

“I think he comes after Christmas, when we come back for Christmas,” Calipari told reporters last week. “Great kid…Let’s just get him to campus. Let’s just get him here.

However, when digging into Kentucky’s current roster, it is clear that the Wildcats do not have really any wings. Sharpe could step into that role and give the Wildcats an alternate playmaker to supplement Sahvir Wheeler. With a dominant big man and plenty of perimeter shooting, that could make the Wildcats dangerous as SEC play begins in 2022.

“Shaedon has the ability to be one of those guys that we’ve had make a special impact on this program,” Calipari said at the time of Sharpe’s signing. “He is an elite scorer with a ton of upside. He’s a 6-5 athlete who I would describe as bouncy. What I love about Shaedon is the work he has put in over the last year to take his game to the next level.
