Shaedon Sharpe sets commitment date for Sept. 7
The nation’s new top player from the class of 2022, Shaedon Sharpe, has locked in a decision date.
Sharpe, ranked by On3, ESPN, and Rivals as the No. 1 player in his class, announced through his Twitter on Wednesday that he will make his commitment on Tuesday, Sept. 7 at 7:00 p.m. EST. The 6-foot-4 shooting guard is down to Kentucky, Arizona, Kansas, Oklahoma State, and the NBA’s G League Ignite program.
There shouldn’t be much suspense between now and Sept. 7, either.
Shaedon Sharpe has been trending towards picking Kentucky ever since he visited Lexington for the first time back in the middle of July. KSR’s Jack Pilgrim reported on Monday that Sharpe was on campus for the second time, a few days ahead of his expected visit originally scheduled for this weekend.
Sharpe has tried to downplay the Kentucky momentum over the last few weeks, but announcing a commitment date shortly after visiting Kentucky is more than enough reason for Wildcat fans to stay optimistic.

Kentucky could be on the cusp of adding another recruit or two in the coming months–bringing in Sharpe would be an excellent way to get the ball rolling.
As of right now, head coach John Calipari has just one commitment from the class of 2022, five-star point guard Skyy Clark.
