Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Karl-Anthony Towns have been named All-NBA again

Multiple Kentucky alums are still playing as the NBA playoffs have reached the conference finals. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is pacing the Oklahoma City Thunder while Karl-Anthony Towns is helping Jalen Brunson create pandemonium for the New York Knicks inside Madison Square Garden.
Both UK players were honored for their superb seasons on Friday when the league released its All-NBA teams.
The banner year for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander continues. The 26-year-old led the Thunder to the best regular-season record in the NBA along with an MVP trophy and first-team All-NBA honors. This is the former No. 11 overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft’s third consecutive first-team All-NBA selection. Gilgeous-Alexander also won the scoring title as he posted 32.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, 6.4 assists, and 1.7 steals on .519/.375/.898 shooting splits in 34.2 minutes per game. SGA is averaging 29.8 points per game in the playoffs. The Thunder are just two wins away from the franchise’s first NBA Finals appearance since 2012.

Gilgeous-Alexander is just the 10th player in NBA history to lead a team in scoring that won 60 or more games
Karl-Anthony Towns, 29, was traded to New York Knicks in the offseason in a blockbuster trade that sent Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo to the Minnesota Timberwolves. The versatile big has given Jalen Brunson a scoring sidekick and helped lead the Knicks to the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference. After handling the Detroit Pistons and upsetting the Boston Celtics, New York is back in the conference finals for the first time since 2000. This was Towns’ third All-NBA selection. The former No. 1 overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft averaged 24.4 points, 12.8 rebounds, and 3.1 assists on .526/.420/.829 shooting splits in 35.0 minutes per game in the regular season. Towns is averaging 20.9 points per game in New York’s playoff run.
A great year for Kentucky products in the NBA has been confirmed.
