Kentucky is finalist for WR prospect Shamar Rigby

St. Petersburg (Fla.) Lakewood wide receiver Shamar Rigby made a surprise official visit to Kentucky last season. The unranked prospect did not take long after that to take the next step in his recruitment. June isn’t just for commitments in high school recruiting.
On Thursday, Rigby cut his list down to 10 schools. Kentucky was joined by Cincinnati, Indiana, Iowa State, Kansas State, Nebraska, Pittsburgh, Purdue, USF, and Vanderbilt. The Cats are firmly in the hunt for the 6-foot-5 receiver.
During his official visit in Lexington, UK made a big impact on the rising prospect. The Cats appear to be in very good shape in this recruitment.
“I really underestimated them, they really shocked me,” Rigby told KSR on Tuesday. “By the campus, by the people, by the academics, everything that I was looking for really.”

“The people there. I would say the people there,” Rigby said about what stands out about UK. “They seem like genuine people, they seem like they actually care about the players, care about families. It seemed real cultured over there and I’m all about culture.”
The wideout’s second official in June begins on Friday when Shamar Rigby heads to Purdue. USF is also scheduled to get an official visit with the local product. Kentucky is casting a wide net at wide receiver, and Rigby looks like a potential option.
