No. If you want to be one of those losers who actually watched football games and know the sport, then no, they shouldn’t. That’s lame though and Google won’t allow us to end it here. The power of the internet lets us create fact-based, completely objective metrics that undeniably prove that Kentucky is the best team in the country after the Citrus Bowl win.

Who is Kentucky better than?

All of them. Name a school and we can come up with a 100% proof way of proving Kentucky’s gridiron superiority. Cincinnati? There’s just simply no way that a non Power 5 school from Ohio is better than Kentucky at football. That’s just basic math. One checked off so far.

Next up is big, bad Georgia. Some of you may remember seeing this Georgia team handle Kentucky pretty easily earlier in the season. That’s your prerogative to believe, I myself saw no such thing occur. All I know is that through the magic that is the transitive property, Kentucky football is miles clear of Georgia. Find a new team to beat in the SEC.

Where do we even start with the Michigan Men? Kudos to John Harbaugh for finally beating Ohio State after the 50th try. People want to see and believe that Michigan does well because they have cool colors and a pretty decent stadium. What does that have to do with football? We saw both Kentucky and Michigan beat Iowa recently, I think we’d all agree who had the better showing. Next.

There’s absolutely no possible way that someone sane can convince themselves that Kentucky is a better football team than Alabama, right? The Tide literally won 63-3 just a year ago and look like they’re about to walk out of Indianapolis with another title.

Oh pal, here’s where you’re wrong. Alabama really messed up when they lost to Texas A&M. This, along with the power of mental manipulation and confirmation bias will give you an avenue into convincing yourself that Kentucky was far and away the best college football team in the nation in the year 2021. Kentucky would clearly win the game easily, put them in the playoff.

‘Cats actually gave Georgia a test

The worst thing that happened this year for Kentucky was watching Georgia lose to Alabama in the conference title game. One bad game from Georgia paved the way for every media member and their mother to start ragging on the Bulldogs. It had to be that Georgia is full of frauds, not that the literal other best team in the country played well enough to win a tough game.

The rational takeaway that everyone reasonably had was that the SEC East was actually a front for Division III football. This years bowl season didn’t do too much to quell those claims, but this isn’t about who else in the SEC simply won’t step up. Kentucky can’t apologize for other teams being dumpster fires.

If you go back now and look at the game back in October between Kentucky and Georgia, you still see that Kentucky gave the Bulldogs a test that very few were capable of this season. The numbers Georgia allowed were similar to their season averages, but this game was actually pretty competitive going into halftime. That’s enough to the unbiased eye to prove that Kentucky is 100%, without a doubt, the best team in college football this year.

Crown ’em. Give Kentucky the championship they deserve and lets move on to basketball.
