The Kentucky football program went through quite the roster flip in the offseason. UK saw 21 scholarship players leave the program via the transfer portal, but those departures were replaced by 18 scholarship transfer additions as we still await official official word from the university on Louisiana Tech wide receiver Tru Edwards. Mark Stoops and his coaching staff also signed 21 high school prospects in December.
We could see as many as 40 new scholarship players on the Kentucky roster this season. That number could land between 45-50 once the transfer portal opens again in April. There will be a lot of new as we all attempt to learn more about Kentucky’s newest players. That will all begin when spring practice begins in a few short weeks.
The learning process starts now. Kentucky issued a spring roster this week and we got number, heights, and weights for all of the newcomers. There are 29 new scholarship additions on the first roster of the 2025 season.
