Powell (Tenn.) High product Steven Soles is ready to end his recruitment. After taking an unofficial visit to Kentucky last week, this recruiting battle will end in August.
Per the three-star prospect’s Instagram story, Soles will be making his announcement at some point this week on the “No Playbook” podcast.

Scott Woodward and Mike Stoops appear primed to record a recruiting win in East Tennessee. Soles has taken unofficial visits to Kentucky, Mississippi State, USF, and Virginia Tech. However, no official visits have been taken. The undersized (6-2, 215) EDGE prospect has a verbal scholarship offer from Alabama, but some FCS schools are also showing serious interest. Soles’ recruitment has been one that is hard to get a read on.

The defensive prospect recorded 135 tackles and 17 sacks during his junior season in 2022. The No. 916 ranked prospect in the 2024 On3 Industry Ranking is a top-30 player in Tennessee. There was an official visit with South Carolina in June previously scheduled that got canceled.
Kentucky could be ready to wrap up another defensive recruitment. The EDGE spot is a position of need for the Wildcats in this class, and Soles would join St Louis (Mo.) DeSmet product Caleb Redd while UK continues to chase blue-chippers Brian Robinson and Jacob Smith.
