Stevie Johnson coming to Lexington for Kentucky vs. LSU
One of the stars of Kentucky’s win over No. 1 LSU in 2007 will be at Kroger Field for the Cats vs. Tigers Saturday night. Stevie Johnson is making the trip to Lexington to cheer Kentucky on, at the behest of former teammate Dicky Lyons Jr.
Johnson was selected in the seventh round of the 2008 NFL Draft by the Buffalo Bills and spent nine years in the pros. He was traded to the San Francisco 49ers in 2014 and the next season, signed a three-year deal with the San Diego Chargers. He was released in March 2017. Now, he runs a foundation, Handle Biz, Have Fun (HBHF), to teach kids skills on and off the football field. Last December, he returned to the University of Kentucky to complete his degree.
It’s Thursday, so let’s throw it back to that October night when the Cats knocked off the No. 1 Tigers.

You know all about Stevie’s big catch, but don’t forget that big block by Dicky Lyons, Jr. in the fourth quarter.
If I’m Mark Stoops, I’m asking Stevie Johnson to deliver the pregame speech and Dicky Lyons to lead the team out of the tunnel.
