Kentucky’s recruiting operation is on a hot streak over the last week. Some more good news could be coming soon. Class of 2025 quarterback Stone Saunders is hinting at a huge step in the decision-making process being right around the corner.
On Friday afternoon, Saunders tweeted out that something could be hitting social media soon with On3’s Football Social Media expert Hayes Fawcett tagged. Some type of edit is coming soon. Will it be a commitment?
Stone Saunders is the No. 311 ranked prospect in the 2025 On3 Industry Ranking. The Harrisburg (Pa.) Bishop McDevitt quarterback is the No. 22 ranked signal-caller in that class. The rising junior has had a popular recruitment to this point.
Saunders has made multiple visits to Nebraska and Texas A&M. However, Kentucky has been seen as a top-notch contender in this battle once offensive coordinator Liam Coen returned to campus. The Wildcats hosted the prospect for an unofficial visit on June 11 and are firmly in the hunt. Saunders’ fit in Lexington is a big selling point for the Wildcats.

“(Coen is) always great with me. I’ve known him a long time,” Saunders told KSR in April. “We were just having fun, watching a lot of film and watching practice. He’s told me that I’d be a great fit for what he wants to do on offense and he loves how I play.”
The blue-chip quarterback led Bishop McDevitt to a state championship in 2022 throwing for 3,500 yards and accounting for 50-plus touchdowns. Saunders brought home the Max Preps Pennsylvania Player of the Year honors and will enter the 2023 season with sky-high expectations.
Kentucky’s last few recruiting classes have gotten off to slow starts. If the Cats can get Saunders in the fold early, that could help create some early momentum and positive buzz in the 2025 recruiting cycle.
