Suns guard Devin Booker hung out with Michael Jordan
Devin Booker is widely respected in the basketball community. He was mentored by the late Kobe Bryant (which is evident when watching him perform on the hardwood) and has established himself as one of the world’s top talents. So it wasn’t much of a surprise to see him chopping it up with arguably the greatest basketball player of all time.
On Friday, Booker posted a picture to his Instagram story that showed a smiling Michael Jordan embracing the former Kentucky Wildcat turned Phoenix Suns All-Star guard.
Booker has been garnering plenty of praise as of late — both on and off the court. Although an injury in the middle of the 2022-23 season resulted in him missing out on his fourth consecutive NBA All-Star Game appearance, he was still one of the league’s top scorers once he returned. Booker, 26, averaged a career-high 27.8 points per game this past season, along with 4.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists on shooting splits of 49.4/35.1/85.5.
He went nuclear in the playoffs, dropping at least 40 points on three different occasions en route to averaging 33.7 points per game across 11 contests. Unfortunately, the Suns would lose in six games in the second round to the eventual champion Denver Nuggets. Phoenix was still incorporating Kevin Durant into the roster during that run before adding three-time All-Star Bradley Beal to the team earlier this offseason. With those three and seven-foot center Deandre Ayton in the fold for 2023-24, the Suns will be one of the favorites to win the NBA Finals.
Off the floor, Booker has been drawing attention from more than just Michael Jordan. He was spotted last week at a Drake concert in Brooklyn, NY where the top-selling artist gave Booker a shoutout on stage.

“You know I got my brother with me tonight one time,” Drake said. “Ya’ll gotta make some noise for the legendary D-Book in the building.”
Drake certainly loves to be involved with Kentucky men’s basketball.
And oh yeah, Booker also donated $100,000 to a local Back to School Clothing Drive in Phoenix last week. Not a bad offseason of work for someone who came off the bench in college…
