'Surgery was perfect.' Jaxson Robinson is on the mend following Wednesday's procedure

As scheduled, Jaxson Robinson underwent wrist surgery on Wednesday with a world specialist. And according to Kentucky head coach Mark Pope, everything went according to plan.
“Surgery was perfect,” Pope said during his Thursday press conference. “I talked to (Robinson) last night. He was a little tired and a little irritable, but he’s on his way back right now.”
Robinson was ruled out with a season-ending injury last week. He initially hurt his wrist after accidentally colliding with a teammate during a practice on Friday, Feb. 10. The fifth-year guard sat out four games and tried to return in Kentucky’s game at Oklahoma last Wednesday, but he sat out the entire second half against the Sooners after aggravating the issue. Pope then officially declared Robinson out for the remainder of the season following the Wildcats’ loss to Auburn on Saturday.
While Robinson’s playing career in Lexington is over, his time left with his teammates is not. Pope says Robinson hopes to travel with the team once he makes his way back to the Bluegrass State and is in good enough health to make the trips.

“We’ll see how he feels when he gets back,” Pope said. “I know he’s gonna want to be with the team every second he can. And we want him to be. I know it’s tough travel, tough 48 hours for him, and we’ll see how he is once he gets here.”
Robinson appeared in 24 games this season for the Wildcats. He averaged 13 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.7 assists in 28.1 minutes per outing on shooting splits of 43.2/37.6/76.3. The BYU transfer was even better once SEC play began. In 11 conference games, Robinson averaged 14.4 points per outing on impressive splits of 46.2/45.7/72.2.
Kentucky will play out the final regular season game and the entire postseason without Robinson or backup point guard Kerr Kriisa, who has not played since going down with a foot injury in early December. Pope officially ruled Kriisa out as well on Thursday.
