Sweet escape! Cats edge Princeton, 59-57
It was one of those games that had the weird feeling of an impending upset. The Cats couldn’t buy a bucket and Princeton couldn’t miss anything they threw up. The Tigers hit fadeaways, runners, banks and pretty much anything that went near the rim or backboard went in. Meanwhile, no one not named Darius Miller or Josh Harrellson could score for the Cats. But, with the game tied and with the Cats needing a big shot, Brandon Knight made his first field goal of the game, -a running layup – with two seconds left to move the Cats on to a date with West Virginia Saturday. It wasn’t easy by any means and UK’s trio of freshmen made little difference, but the duo of Harrellson and Miller carried the team on their backs and the Cats survive and advance.
It keeps getting prettier every time….
