Keep the hardware coming for the Kentucky Wildcats — including a second gold medal for Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Joined by fellow alum Alexis Holmes in the 4x400m Relay Final, the duo made up two of four for Team USA en route to the first-place finish.

McLaughlin-Levrone made up the second leg for the U.S. while Holmes closed things out with the fourth and final leg to earn gold with a 3:15.27. That’s good for an American record, one that has held strong since 1988.

It was as dominant an effort as you’ll find, the camera crew having to pull out the wide lens just to keep the rest of the field in the TV frame.

Holmes previously ran a personal best time of 49.77 seconds in the Women’s 400m Final to finish sixth while McLaughlin-Levrone is your Women’s 400mH champion and world record holder, breaking her own record for a fifth time since first setting it in June 2021. This is McLaughlin-Levrone’s second gold medal in Paris and fourth overall.

Masai Russell and Jasmine Camacho-Quinn medaled in the Women’s 100mH Final just a few hours, the former earning gold and the latter coming away with bronze. On the men’s side, fellow alum and current volunteer coach Daniel Roberts also earned his first Olympic medal in Paris in the Men’s 100m Hurdles Final, getting a silver with a time of 13.09.

Not a bad way to wrap up the Olympics for UK track and field — four medals in one day, three being gold.

Overall, UK Athletics has earned eight total medals with five gold up to this point while Anthony Davis, Devin Booker and Bam Adebayo can move that total to 11 with eight golds in a matter of hours by beating France in the Gold Medal Game for Men’s Basketball 5×5. Avery Skinner then has the opportunity to make it 12 medals and nine golds to wrap things up on Sunday when U.S. Women’s Volleyball takes on Italy in the Gold Medal Match at 7 a.m. ET.

Absolute domination in Paris for the Cats.
