Sydney McLaughlin got married over the weekend
Congratulations are in order for one of the most talented athletes to ever attend the University of Kentucky. Two-time Olympic gold medalist Sydney McLaughlin married former NFL player Andre Levrone Jr. Friday at Early Mountain Vineyards in Madison, Virginia. People Magazine has exclusive rights to the photos, but McLaughlin shared some on her Instagram last night.
McLaughlin, 22, and Levrone Jr., 27, started dating in 2020 and got engaged in August 2021. Levrone retired from the NFL in 2020 after spending three seasons with the Baltimore Ravens, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Carolina Panthers. He played college football at the University of Virginia, hence the site of the wedding.
“We’ve been waiting for this day for a very long time so just excited that it’s finally here and we can say we’re married,” McLaughlin told People.
If you’re into details, McLaughlin’s dress was designed by Pallas Couture, her veil was by Vera Wang, and her shoes Jimmy Choo. Levrone Jr. wore a suit by Brian Alexander with Salvatore Ferragamo shoes. The honeymoon will have to wait until after track season, McLaughlin said.

“We’re still figuring out where we want to go and what we want to do, but we’re definitely not taking that off of the calendar at all.”
Sydney McLaughlin’s Golden Summer in Tokyo
At the Tokyo Olympics last summer, McLaughlin won gold in the 400m hurdles and the 4x400m relay. She narrowly beat out teammate Dalilah Muhammad in the 400m hurdles to become the youngest gold medalist event’s history. She finished in 51.46 seconds, shattering her own world record by nearly half a second.
A few days later, McLaughlin ran the leadoff leg in the 4x400m relay, giving Allyson Felix, Dalilah Muhammad, and Athing Mu a comfortable lead. Team USA cruised to victory, finishing the event in 3 minutes and 16.85 seconds.
