Kentucky got big news on Sunday afternoon when top tackle target Darrin Strey committed to the Wildcats following his official visit over the weekend. But the news wasn’t all good.

On Sunday evening, three-star offensive lineman Taren “TJ” Hedrick decided to end his recruitment with a commitment to Ole Miss.

Taren Hedrick took an official visit to Ole Miss last weekend before calling an audible for the rest of his visits. Hedrick canceled trips to Texas A&M and Purdue deciding to check out Kentucky the week after the Ole Miss trip. This turned into a Kentucky vs. Ole Miss battle with the Rebels edging out the Cats in the end.

We also got some other tackle news to start the day on Sunday with three-star prospect Jayden Clark canceling his upcoming trips to Kentucky while finishing off his official visit to Cincinnati. With Clark seemingly off the table and Strey in the fold, Kentucky’s focus could now turn to Jermiel Atkins.

The Trotwood (Ohio) Madison offensive tackle camped at Kentucky last week and has a July 4 announcement date locked in. Atkins will return to Lexington for his official visit the weekend of June 21. Virginia Tech got the three-star prospect on campus for an official visit this weekend, and Atkins is planning on making a trip to Minnesota next week. Vince Marrow and Eric Wolford could now be in a position to close on Atkins.
