National Signing Day is quickly approaching and Kentucky’s coaches have hit the road as they look to close strong in the class of 2023.

On Friday, recruiting coordinator Vince Marrow was in Louisville to check in on commit Jakob Dixon. But an under-the-radar development happened in the Peach State.

Multiple Kentucky coaches headed southeast to visit Florida State commit Tavion Gadson.

Head coach Mark Stoops, defensive coordinator Brad White, defensive line coach Anwar Stewart, and defensive backs coach Chris Collins all made the trip to Savannah (Ga.) Jenkins to visit the defensive line prospect.

Gadson (6-5, 265) took official visits to both Minnesota and Florida State in June before committing to Mike Norvell’s program in August. Virginia Tech has also been involved hosting the three-star prospect for an unofficial visit in November.

Kentucky hosted Gadson for two visits in March and June as Collins is running point on this recruitment for the Wildcats. The Cats currently have just zero true defensive line players committed as it is unclear if Danville (Ky.) Boyle County senior Tommy Ziesmer will play defensive end or EDGE in White’s 3-4 base scheme.

The 2023 target has the required length that Kentucky prefers to have on the defensive line and sent many coaches on this road visit to show Tavion Gadson that the Wildcats are still very interested in adding him to their class.

This will be a name to watch over the next week. The party officially gets started on Dec. 21 when players are officially allowed to sign with colleges.

Recruiting never stops.
