Tay Kinney reportedly schedules official visit with Arkansas

Tell me if this sounds familiar: John Calipari is looking to sneak in and snag one of the best point guards in the country.
According to Sam Lance of ZAGSBLOG, four-star class of 2026 point guard Tay Kinney has scheduled an official visit with Arkansas for Sept. 26-28. The Bluegrass native has already taken a trio of OVs to Louisville, Purdue, and most recently, Kentucky. Along with Arkansas, he’ll also make trips to Texas, Indiana, and Oregon over the coming months.
“It’s pretty self-explanatory,” Kinney said earlier this week when asked what stands out about Arkansas. “You can just look at (Calipari’s) background, all the players he’s sent to the league, all the guards he’s coached.”
The Razorbacks are currently slated to be Kinney’s final official visit.
Louisville has been trending as the favorite to land Kinney as of late, but there is still a way to go in this recruitment. Other schools will have a chance to make their pitches once he makes it to campus. Kentucky head coach Mark Pope was courtside for several of Kinney’s games this week at the adidas 3SSB Championships in Rock Hill, SC. Kansas is another program to monitor.

A decision will come before the 2025-26 Overtime Elite (where Kinney will play as a senior) season begins this fall, he says. When talking with reporters on Thursday, Kinney added that, despite being signed to adidas and playing for an adidas AAU program (Wildcat Select), he’s not automatically guaranteed to go to an adidas school. He mentioned that his current partnership with the popular shoe brand ends after his final high school season. Arkansas, like Kentucky, is a Nike school.
Calipari was recruiting Kinney when he was still head coach of Kentucky — that relationship has carried over to Fayetteville, and now Calipari is making a late push for the nation’s No. 15 overall recruit.
