Tayvion Robinson Trending to Return to Kentucky in 2023
Kentucky wide receiver Tayvion Robinson did not have the 2022 season many expected. Instead of washing his hands of Lexington after one year, sources close to the Kentucky football program believe he’ll run it back for one more season in the Bluegrass in 2023.
Tayvion Robinson did not play in the regular season finale against Louisville, providing a cloudy forecast for his football future. A couple of offseason developments have changed that forecast. Most fans noticed Robinson was prominently featured in the video where Devin Leary announced he will be playing quarterback for the Wildcats.
Ryan Lemond threw some more fuel on the fire this morning. The scoop man for Kentucky Sports Radio stated with conviction that Tayvion Robinson will be playing for Kentucky next fall.
Scoop Lemond added in another nugget of information, sharing that Scott Woodward will be heavily involved in the play-calling duties along with Vince Marrow, rebuking a statement made last week by the Big Dog.

Robinson caught at least six passes in the first three non-conference games of the season and had two 100-yard games. That production dipped dramatically under Rich Scangarello’s watch in SEC play. In six conference games he caught just 16 passes for 121 yards. Now Robinson has a second chance to end his collegiate career on a high with the play-caller he initially committed to play for at Kentucky, Liam Coen.
More Scuttlebutt on Returning Kentucky Wildcats
As our audience is well aware by now, there’s a difference between scoop and scuttlebutt. The latter is less based on facts and more on “what we’re hearing.” There’s some buzz that another star will be back in 2023.
J.J. Weaver participated in Senior Day ceremonies at Kentucky. He could leave for the professional ranks after four years in Lexington, but there’s plenty of talk that Weaver will return for 2023. Weaver has all of the physical tools to be one of the top edge defenders in the SEC, but injuries have prevented him from consistently producing. One healthy season could change the trajectory of Weaver’s football career.
