Team chemistry won't be an issue with this Kentucky WBB team
When you get a team that’s uber-talented and fills every gap possible, winning games becomes a lot easier. More often than not, Kentucky will have the most talented player on the floor thanks to 2023-24 All-American Georgia Amoore. There’s a good chance the tallest player will be on Kentucky’s side thanks to the likes of Clara Silva and Clara Strack, who are both north of 6-foot-5. Thanks to Cassidy Rowe, the quickest and hardest-playing player will almost always be in blue and white.
You get the point.
However, being talented is only one part of the story. Obviously, basketball is a team sport. In the SEC, the most demanding conference in women’s college basketball, playing as one, cohesive group is all the more important. That’s why team chemistry is so valuable. It’s more than just a phrase to throw around. It’s a very real thing, and it’ll be something that this team will have.

This offseason, we’ve been raving about how exciting things are heading into the new era, and we’re finally getting glimpses of that now. Not to say that past teams didn’t get along, but there’s a connection that this group has that past teams just didn’t exude. Maybe it’s because 46% of the roster had ties to Virginia Tech — either being on the roster or committed to the Hokies. Regardless, this group has already shown a sense of togetherness that we just haven’t seen as of late.
Players are going out to eat together, they’re going out to movies together. Even when they’re working out together, it’s all smiles. From the outside looking in, this is more than a team of 13 talented individuals. It appears that this is 13 best friends all looking forward to a common goal: getting better each and every day, together.
