Team USA is now just one victory away from earning its fourth consecutive gold medal in the FIBA U19 Women’s World Cup. On Saturday, the red, white and blue took down Spain 70-58 in the Semifinals to advance to the Finals against Australia on Sunday. What makes it all the sweeter is that future Cat Maddyn Greenway is on the roster too.

She has struggled to put the ball in the hoop in the FIBA U19 World Cup, but she’s managed to provide production on the offensive end of the floor through her playmaking ability. Of course, in more recent competition against tougher opponents, Greenway’s playing time has slipped a bit. Still, she’s making each second on the floor count.

The class of 2026 five-star point guard recorded three assists and a rebound in nine minutes of play. Sydney Douglas, who Kentucky is targeting in the 2028 class, did not play.

Saniyah Hall led USA with 16 points on 4-7 shooting from the field, with Jazzy Davidson and Jordan Lee just behind her with 15 points apiece. USA’s shooting overall was better, but still not great. They went 26-56 (46.4%) from the field, but they were very efficient from three-point range having made seven of their 16 attempts (43.8%).

USA is 9-2 all-time against Australia in the FIBA U19 World Cup, with their last head-to-head loss coming back in 1997. Let’s make it 10-2 on Sunday.
