Tennessee hangs NIT appearance banners. Don't forget that.

Kentucky Basketball is on the road at Tennessee tonight in the hostile confines of Knoxville’s Thompson-Boling Arena. In one of the proudest arenas in all of sport, the Wildcats will not only play against a raucous crowd and a top-25 team out for revenge, but also against Tennessee’s storied history hanging above their heads.
I am, of course, talking about Tennessee’s banner celebrating its NIT appearances. Yes, a celebration of the times Tennessee has appeared in the NIT.
Not won the NIT.
Appeared in the NIT.

Also good for a laugh, the banner due west of the NIT banner lists all of those times Tennessee has been fortunate enough to appear in the NCAA Tournament, while @Tyler_G_22 prefers the banner listing all of the NCAA Elite Eight appearances:

Remember these banners if a Tennessee Basketball fan gets too cocky today. And if they try to bring up football, congratulate them on their runner-up finish to Purdue in the Music City Bowl and move on. They’re not far from hanging “We Beat Kentucky Football” banners too.
Go Cats and Beat The Vols… who were NIT semifinalists in 1969 and 1985, apparently. Congrats on that by the way.
