The Best Kentucky Basketball Gifts from Santa's Workshop

December 24 was a restless night in the Roush household.  Unsure if I made the Nice List, my worries were immediately relieved when I saw blue beneath my Christmas tree.  To my surprise, what did I find?  Good tidings from Kentucky National Championships. Not only did Santa save a ball cap for 19 years, he also saved an envelope a Kentucky fan used to send a Christmas wish list to the North Pole following the Comeback Cats' victory over Utah. Santa wanted to make sure I celebrated more than one National Title, so he left me something to hang on my wall to remember the '78 Cats. We love to celebrate the titles, but that doesn't mean we can't celebrate the teams who came up just a little short.  That's why he left me this colorful program from UK's 1980 match-up with Notre Dame at Freedom Hall. My basketball card collection had not been replenished in about a decade.  Santa knew it was time for me to get back into the old binders with some Big Blue.  From Wah Wah Jones and Ralph Beard, to Rex Chapman and Ed Davender, Santa hit all the high points from the Kentucky's Finest series. Last but not least, Santa sent me something to remind all of my Cardinal friends who is the real King of Kentucky. Being on the Nice List never felt so good. [mobile_ad]
