20, Matchbox — A Matchbox 20 concert in Tucson, Arizona had to be delayed 75 minutes after a swarm of several thousand bees invaded a casino amphitheater. At least this is what authorities are surmising from concertgoers vehement complaints that it felt as though “thousands of bees were stinging their ears.”

Barker, Bob — Despite a viral hoax which captured social media this week, representatives for Bob Barker insist that the 93 year-old Price is Right host is NOT dead from a fall at his Hollywood home. A spokesman for Barker says he is on the mend and would like to remind everyone to control the pet population and have your pet spayed or neutered.

King, Stephen — With The Dark Tower hitting theaters this weekend Rolling Stone has published its ranking of the top thirty movies adapted from author Stephen King’s works. I’d warn of a spoiler alert but it should surprise no one that Maximum Overdrive is number one.

Summer, Wet Hot American — On the heels of my quarterly viewing of the comedy Wet Hot American Summer comes the second Netflix series to star the characters from Camp Firewood today. To me, WHAS is one of the greatest and underseen comedies ever made and I’d recommend that Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later be on your binge list this weekend.

Thrones, Game of — As was seen coming, last week’s hack of HBO may be connected to the leaking of the fourth episode of Game of Thrones, which reportedly was absconded from Star India, an international HBO partner. The hack is striking fear in HBO that spoilers may ruin the end of season 8, notably the realization that the entire movie is just a dream by Hot Pie.

Tomatoes, Rotten — Here’s an interesting read for you: Hollywood executives in 2017 are petrified of Rotten Tomatoes scores. This shouldn’t be surprising, since the site amasses countless reviews into one big “thumbs up” or “thumbs down.” It makes a good point. Still, it’s disheartening that film executives are upset that you might find out The Space Between Us is garbage BEFORE paying $14.25 for it.

Web, Charlotte’s — The Maine farm which served as the inspiration for Zuckerman’s farm in the beloved children’s novel Charlotte’s Web is reportedly up for sale for $3.7 million dollars. Negotiating with the current owners to rid the property of its talking rat infestation could be worked out; please call with inquiries.
